What is the difference between Netbook and Notebook.

The terms Netbook and Notebook are usually  confusing. What is the difference between Netbook and Notebook?
Netbook
Netbook generally has the following features.
1.Weight usually less than three pounds.
2.Screens  are 12 inches or smaller, a netbook can be tossed easily into a backpack or purse, or even carried comfortably in one hand.  If you lug your machine around all day long, that's a major consideration.
3.Netbooks are leaner, and better suited to web-based usage.
4.They rarely have a CD or DVD drive.
5.Their processors make them both energy-efficient and power-conscious, but that also means they're designed to run fewer programs simultaneously.
6.Less hardware.
7.Netbooks have a longer battery life, lasting up to twelve hours without a charge.

Netbook Computers.

Notebook
Notebook generally has the following features.
1.Notebooks are more substantial, with larger keyboards and screens,
2.Built-in DVD drives, and more computing strength.
3.Weight starting at about five pounds.
4.Notebooks are built with the heft to edit massive video files, create graphics, or manage large music libraries.
5.The larger hard drive of a notebook delivers power and speed, capable of storing huge amounts of content while easily running multiple data-heavy programs.

How to install Linux Operating System.

Dear friends, most of the people know how to install Windows Operating System , but doesn't know Linux. Here I am describing how to install Redhat Enterprise Linux server. This is the same step you can follow to install most of the Unix based OS.

Before start check the system requirements.
Both Red Hat Enterprise Linux versions 4 and 5 on 32-bit and 64-bit platforms have the same system requirements, as listed here:

CPU TypePentium 3 or higher; 500MHz or higher
Memory/RAM

256 MB minimum

Hard Disk
200 MB of disk space minimum for a typical deployment
4 GB minimum for very large environments (more than a million entries)

So let us start.

Insert Linux DVD into the DVD tray. Reboot the computer. You will receive the following screen.

press "Enter" key. The system will start graphic mode of installation.

Select "Skip" option. If you want to check the DVD/CD you can press "OK"

                                                                     Press "Next"

                                                         Select the language "English"

                                                    Select the keyboard "U.S English"

Select skip entering installation number and press "OK"

Select "create custom layout"and press "Next"

From this page select mount point "/" , file system "ext3" and enter the size (for the proper working of the Operating system, better to give atleast 10000MB)

                                                                I have given 15GB.

Next you need to create another partition called "swap" (the virtual memory partition ). It should be double the size of your RAM.        ie, if the RAM size is 1GB give swap partition size to 2GB.

Select grub boot loader as shown in the picture.

 Select the automatic DHCP option

Select Asia/Calcutta

Type the root password. This is the password and user name you need to give after the installation, to login to the computer.

Select customize option and tick on  all needed software.

Choose "Next"

This time your partition is formatting with the choosen ext3 file system. After that the installation will begin automatically. Your computer will reboot when the process completes.

Ok.Now you installed Redhat Linux in your computer. This is the login window. Here you need to give the username as root and the root password.
